Internet Transfers
As of April 1st 2022, we will no longer be accepting online firearm transfers. The only exceptions will be used and/or out of production firearms that can no longer be obtained through new stock.
Keep in mind ALL TRANSFERS MUST BE APPROVED BEFORE HAND! That means you must come in to the store in person and confirm that we will do the transfer for you, You must have all the information for the firearm(Make, Model, Caliber, etc), Where the firearm is coming from with all their information(FFL name, Address, Phone number, Email.), along with any order number that they might provide. Each serialized firearm/receiver will cost $50 to transfer each.
ANY FIREARM TRANSFER THAT ARRIVES TO THE STORE WITHOUT BEING APPROVED BY STAFF(MEANING YOU HAVE FILLED OUT OUR TRANSFER FORM IN STORE) WILL BE CHARGED A $100 TRANSFER FEE FOR THOSE ITEMS THAT ARE DELIVERED HERE. PURCHASER IS STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR TRANSFER FEE & RETURN SHIPPING IN ANY CASE THAT THE FIREARM IS RETURNED TO THE SHIPPER.
Firearms transferred to Mid America Arms are considered abandoned if not picked up within 30 calendar days from the date the firearm was received by Mid America Arms unless other arrangements were made, and agreed to by Mid America Arms. If we are unable to contact you by phone, (e.g. You have changed your number, or you have a voicemail that has not been set-up, or we do not have correct number), then it is your responsibility to come in and collect your firearm(s) within 30-calendar days, pay any applicable storage fees, and have the firearm(s) transferred into your name. Abandoned firearms will be disposed of for the previously anticipated cost of transfer and any accrued storage fees. Storage fees will accrue after the first 30 days at a rate of $2 a day. All monies collected from the sale of an abandoned and sold firearm shall belong to Mid America Arms and the intended recipient of such firearm shall not have any recourse against Mid America Arms, its owners, agents, or successors.
Agreement: By having a gun(s) shipped to Mid America Arms for transfer, you agree to these terms in their entirety.
If you have any questions regarding this updated policy or are unsure if your transfers falls under what we will accommodate please call to verify. Any transfers that show up that were not authorized before hand may be refused upon delivery.
NFA TRANSFERS
All NFA transfers need to be approved before we accept them. Each serialized item will cost $100 for the transfer fee. Does not include any other NFA Fees or additional finger printing services.
Person to Person Transfers
PLEASE CALL AHEAD to schedule a person to person transfer to be sure someone is available to handle the transfer. Expect to be at Mid America Arms 30 minutes to 1 hour.
In Missouri, it is legal for a private party to transfer a firearm (handgun or long gun) to another individual who also is a resident of Missouri without going through a dealer. This being said, it is the seller/transferor’s responsibility to make sure the person receiving the firearm is legally able to be in possession of firearms. If there are any doubts, or you do not know the person very well, it is advisable to go through an FFL. We charge $50.00 to do a person to person transfer. We require that both parties remain present during the entire transfer process, no money exchanges parties on our premises, and, in the event of a delay, both parties return once the delay has been resolved to complete the transfer.
If the parties involved are from different states, we can complete the transfer of a handgun, long gun, or receiver to a Missouri resident, or the transfer of a long gun to an Illinois resident with a 24-hour waiting period.
We will also complete transfers for firearms won through auctions, raffles, and charity events for $50.00. If you have any questions, please call to speak with any of our sales people about your individual situation.
